Something that some people may not think about.

Sometime if I have Tmobile cellphone has problem at home, I would use my ISP/VoIP to contact Tmobile to see what's going on. Or sometime my home ISP/VoIP has problem, I would use my Tmobile phone to contact my ISP/VoIP. But if all my phone/internet access are using Tmobile and Tmobile has problem, I have no other method to contact someone other than walk/drive to friend/family house close by and use their internet/phone assuming they use something other than Tmobile.

May need to think about your "backup" plan in that kind of cases.
T-Mobile home internet is extremely slow using a VPN. I tried with 2 VPNs and gave up. Speed was about 30+ mbs without vpn, about 1 with.

Two bars and low connection in the best location yet only about two miles from the tower......

Their service is an absolute nightmare to cancel and get a return label for the return of the gateway. Lots of phone calls and long hold times. Online chat tells you to call their CSR's.

I gave up after two months, and never again. Went back to Spectrum with $39 for 400 mbs for 2 years. (Promotional rate, but needs renegotiation when the 2 years is up).
According to TMO I'm not supposed to have availability.
I used my billing address to get the unit.

Much better than the Comcast I had and at half the price Applause

Anybody have feedback on the modems/routers used by T-Mobile? Can bridge-mode be enabled?

Switched to Tmobile internet when it became available to my area. Was way better than Frontier, but not nearly as good as Comcast. I stayed with them long enough to qualify for the "New Customer" offers with Comcast again. $30 per month for Comcast and they gave me a $100 prepaid card.

The latency kills game player. I tested Verizon 5G home internet. The latency is higher than cable. It drops packets.

Everybody's going to have different results with these. I had the square 4G gateway and it was abysmal like you mentioned topped out at 30Mbps and downhill if you added VPN etc.
Switched to the Nokia cylinder 5G gateway, and average between 100-300Mbps. This one has a desktop interface (along with the app controls both 5g gateways have) and you can shut off the router aspect to let it concentrate on LTE reception and then run a cable to a proper router. I'm going to do that soon, run it to an Asus RTAX86U and try with VPN etc. Just haven't had to as I have had cable as well (well probably not much longer if the above works!

My 4G towers are about 1.5 miles away at say 3 o'clock, and the closest 5G N71 tower is 3 miles away at say 10 o'clock. Since 4G is always the primary signal, I actually get better speeds when I twerk the gateway to where there's a partial block towards the 4G towers and clear sailing towards 5G signals, and then even witn lowest bars I get 1 or 2, I get the best speeds. Yes faster speeds the lower the bar count as long as you are giving the 5G a chance to take over. There's some cool videos out there about the Nokia Gateway. You can even take the 4 or 6 antennas out of the box and face them all in the direction you want. Would work for me because there are no towers behind my house for many miles.

I'm not sure about the newest 5G gateway, but when it first came out it seemed it was missing some needed firmware updates (probably done by now) but back then it also lacked a control interface from your PC (only had the app).

There is a deal to be had here if you are already a Magenta Max customer, and use YouTube TV.

We already get a $10 monthly discount on YTTV as T-Mobile subscribers. The 50% off would add another $22.50 off per month. If the Internet service is only $30 a month for Magenta Max subscribers, it's effectively less than $10/month for the Home Internet service...plus a $50 Mastercard gift card and $50 off a streaming device.

Very good deal if you're in the right situation and can use the product.

An awesome perk, if current home internet subscribers get the $20 discount!

Yes I know, there will be haters because of the Magenta Max requirement. the One Plus plan is also eligible, so not everybody is out in the wind.

They are really trying to take a bite out of big cable with this. And supplement themselves with MMax upgrades lol.

Saw they are also offering 50% off YTTV for a year. . .

I don't think the $10 off YTTV and the 50% off same stack. You have to decide if you want $10 off for longer period (if they keep renewing) or $22 more off than you're already getting a month, for a year.

Still great deals, especially if you have Max plan already.

EDIT: Promotion is not combinable with the $10/month discount on YouTube TV offer, but is stackable with YouTube Premium free trial offer

Glad you're having good results. I had the 5G grey cylinder and tried everything I could think of and tried everything I had read online. The nearest tower was a 5G tower. I found many threads about T-mobile unable to use with a vpn as being a known issue that their tech support was unable to resolve. When I was cancelling, one of the several csr's who I had to speak to told me that a vpn was totally unnecessary with their 5G home internet.....

Good luck to all.
