Seems like a good price. Thoughts on refurb monitors? Are these usually just customer returns or are these overstock they are trying to clearance out as refurb?

Same deal as posted the other day, must have come back in stock. Mine is coming Tomorrow. Not sure what comes in the box, but most reviews on the refurbs have been good. Said they are like new. If you get a bad one or it's not acceptable( bleed through/ dead pixels), you can send it back for free, but you will have to rebuy(if available) and get a refund. I will post my experience when I get it. Mine came out of Texas so 4 days to deliver via Fed-ex.

Haven't bought this specific monitor but I did buy an ACER refurbished unit from eBay back in January and it was pretty much brand new, it still had the plastic wrapping on the Acer logo. It does come in a plain brown box with just some bubble wrap, but that's fine since it wasn't a gift or anything. Plus it was an eBay refurbished so it comes with a 2 year warranty with Allstate.

Got mine today. came with a power cord and large brick, usb, hdmi and dv cord. The box it came in was total crap. Just a flimsy brown box with 2 pieces of Styrofoam on each end. The monitor itself looks new and the stand is top-notch. I have 2 stuck tiny pixels close to the edges(red / green), but can't notice them without my glasses and 2" from the screen. The black light blead is non-existent(just a small beam at the bottom left side. I am very pleased and will definitely be keeping it. It was a lot better than I expected. I hope you all got the same or better as mine Wink

Just got my monitor and it came with no cables. Just the monitor & stand. It came in a crappy box that was opened at the top

Got mine. The monitor is great - but only in HDR mode.

In HDR mode the monitor is glorious. The problem is that HDR -must- run at 100% brightness. You are looking at a super bright screen.No dead pixels, a few very cosmetic scratches.

In every other mode, no matter how you fiddle with the controls, everything looks washed out compared to my ASUS ROG TN panel 1080P monitor. This is a real problem if you want to do anything other than gaming - I need the low blue light options, I need to be able to turn things down a bit. And I can't.

For this reason, as wonderful as it is for gaming, I am returning it.

Completely failed it. In HDR mode it fails 252, 253, 254.

What do you mean by HDR mode has to run in 100% brightness? Do you mean it has be run at full brightness to look good or do mean you're not able to turn the brightness down?

When you turn HDR on, it forces brightness to go to 100%. You cannot have HDR on and modify brightness in any way. Those op tions are greyed out.

Thanks for your reply. Under Picture I can adjust the brightness on both HDR settings (auto, 400). Everything below brightness is greyed out until you get to HDR though (Brightness, HDR, Super Sharpness are not greyed out). Weird. Maybe another setting of yours is preventing the adjustment. Under color, Mode is set to HDR and color space is set to HDR. The rest is greyed out.
