This caps speeds at 90ish Mbps and change if using the lan port since its only 10/100 very few extenders come with 10/100/1000 but those are the ones to get. This is extremely cheap though, so if you dont plan on using it as a wired bridge or a wired AP your good.

Does using this slow down the speed of the whole network?

I think this is the exact one we have and have had for years. I don't think we have a flaky connection, but when I've tried to use this in my bedroom on the switch which is adjacent to the bathroom which has this extender, I would disconnect a lot when playing online. Not sure if somehow the signal wasn't great, even though it was probably 20 feet or so away, or what the issue may have been.

This is a good price, so I am wondering if it would make sense to get another or not... Or if it would just be more interference

It will not slow down the whole network no, it will only limit the devices that connect to it. All the other devices on the main router will not be impacted.

If you are 20ft away it depends on your signal strength if your showing 4/5 bars at all times you should not need another one. As for the whole online disconnects thats a big amount of variables and would require a lot of testing to pinpoint the exact issue. Simple way to make sure its not the extender have two items connected to the extender at the same time, if your game drops check the other device and see if it drops its connects if your still showing connected and able to surf on the other device in most cases its not the extender. If your signal bars are all over the place go from 5 bars to zero a lot then either faulty extender, or you have something next to your extender thats turning on and knocking it off, or you have something next to your PC/Console doing that.

This would be an optimal extender for almost every use case and also comes with a 10/100/1000 port for wired connections. It is 8X the cost though if you get it used from Amazon though, but can be had way cheaper on ebay.

https://www.amazon.com/NETGEAR-Wi...153&sr=8-3

This is dirt cheap for a quality extender

If you dont need or want a ethernet port on it the higher end version can be had for similar prices which wirelessly is better but missing the ethernet port. You can also go a step down and save even more money. With mesh being available a lot people selling their extenders for pennies and they are great pickups.

Which models are those exactly? I was looking at a Netgear EX8000.

can this extender help to break the limit of devices ? For example, in a hotel, sometimes they limit the device to 3 for one room.

I was only referencing EX7500 and EX6400, no point on spending a ton more money when at higher price points you should start considering the EAX20 or EAX80 cause it is wifi 6 which is the direction you should be heading if your not on a limited budget.

How's the range on this thing? I got the Netgear ex one on a Slickdeal and it doesn't seem like the range is very good.

Yes once its setup, anything plugged into the ethernet port will be connected to your wireless network, aka wireless ethernet bridge.

On something like this 30-40 feet but it all depends on your house and interference so its a very hard to answer question.
