Never buy a mattress online. You're shopping on marketing fluff and price. You get an overpriced hunk of foam or a mattress that has very flimsy, thin coils that can be flattened, rolled and shipped.

Go try out mattresses in person then shop around for the best price. You'll find the same mattresses rebranded at different retailers.

If you want a really quality mattress at a great price right now check out this one at Costco. The King retails between $1500 to $1900 normally and it's only $700 at Costco in club right now. Or buy online for $850 for delivery. This is Sealy's top of the line product.

Depends what you get. Mine I bought from them is probably 8+ years old and still decent. Only a very slight drop but not noticeable unless really looking for it.

Always buy the thickest gauge coils and a little firmer than you like. You can always add a topper to soften but can't make a weak/soft mattress firmer.
Trash mattress. We trying to get rid of ours after a year. Sinks like a boat.

Did US-Mattress stop posting the coil gauge (how thick the springs are) or just the manufacture stop sharing?
The mattress I sleep on listed it when I bought it from US-Mattress. But just looked at a few and the gauge of the coils is not there anymore. That's one of the reasons I liked US-Mattress as they gave all the information on mattresses so it was easy to see what you;re getting.

We just bought a mattress after 12 years with a Posturepedic. To my surprise, most mattresses now are delivered rolled up - ours is a hybrid foam/innerspring MLily Fusion Luxe.

That looks really good. I bought a Beautyrest BS900 last year fron them and it's okay, but I sure would rather have this one at that price.

I think you're generally correct but I got a great mattress delivered from Brooklyn Bedding for a reasonable price, $1100 for the signature. Love it to death. The reviews were so good everywhere so I risked it.

I don't know that this is very prevalent in this day and age. Most of these online mattress companies have very convenient return policies/warranties.

I bought a mattress for $800 7 years ago online and it was phenomenal but I ended up wanting the plush model. They allowed me to donate it and sent me the plush model, no charge, no hassle. I can't imagine that mattress companies nowadays are no longer competitive on this front.
