With the kid's FireHD10, unlike other Fire tablets, there are no lock-screen ads.

But I would not buy a Fire HD10 for my kid. I would buy a Lenovo Chromebook Tablet 10e (which I did).

The 10e is a Chrome OS so you can install family link to monitor the tablet. And it has zero bloatware and will get updates until June 2028.

It basically has the same specs BUT
The Fire HD10 has a better screen (not by much)
The Fire HD10 has better sound (not by much)
The Fire HD10 has a micro SD slot and the 10e has a USB C to HUB (can attach anything), but no micro SD slot.

Having google update your tablet monthly vs waiting for Amazon to do it is huge, also the longevity of having the OS updated to June 2028 is HUGE!!!

In 2020, it was all about the FireHD10, in 2022 it is about CHEAP Chromebook.

You can find a refurbished 10e from micro center for $80.00 and you can find it online for that price(ish) through a google search. GOOD LUCK.

I use a Fire HD10 foam case with a handle for our 10e, while it is not a perfect fit, it is good enough for my kid.
