Amazon [amazon.com] UK has Logitech G502 Hero High Performance Wired Gaming Mouse for $35.86. The only catch is it takes a week for it to be deliver. If you not in a hurry, it is a god deal on a great mouse.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

my logitech gaming mouse from 2005 still works, the scroll stopped working though, i stand by logitech longevity.

the 'climate freindly" thing really turned me off this deal though, no political bs for me and my gaming gear thanks.
It's so unfortunate that people think taking care of our home is political. It's also ironic.

Good deal tho

Can anyone speak as to the longevity of this particular model in terms of addressing the 'double clicking issues' and just general quality control as I know that this has been brought up in a couple of Logitech threads in my search for a new mouse? Any insight on that or other potential options (ie, budget is $20-80 for a mouse used for work and gaming, but not particularly picky) would be greatly appreciated!

I can only speak for my particular experience, but I have the SE model on my desktop, and for about 5 (?) years I've used it daily, and have only rarely had minor problems, and nothing that a unplug/replug didn't fix. (I also have 2 other logitech mice hooked up to steam links, and have had no problems with them at all, though they aren't this model and are certainly not heavily used). TLDR; my experience has been positive with this model..

Work:
Logitech MX series, either the MX Master 2, MX Master 3 (on sale), or MC Anywhere 3 (or 2S). I don't think any other mice can compete for the productivity at the price. A G602 (or the new G604) will probably suffice.

Gaming:
Depends on if you want wired, wireless, and weight.
I've used G402, G502, G602s. Some of these have newer models.

With gaming mice, and especially if used for demanding work apps like CAD/Modeling, you'll wear out something within 1-2 years. My G602's scroll-wheel click (Mouse3) wore out in 1 year at work. My other 602 has been a gaming mouse for 1 year now with no double click or other issues. Ditto for G402 for 4 years.
That's just my experience, I don't doubt the double click is still a prevalent issue. I'd keep receipts for whatever warranty is offered.
Other alternatives are Razer NAGA or similar.
