I think the big difference is the screen on the legion 7 blows this away. If you're using an external monitor not a big deal. Also, isn't this more in line with the 3070 gpu not a 3080?

Here's a video comparison, skip to 8:35 for the chart breakdown, it generally beats the 3070 by a few to 20 fps in all but a few games that are more optimized for Nvidia architecture but does draw a bit more power

NM.. over 8 lbs? forget that
Edit: since no link was provided I Googled HP Omen 17 and the first link took me to the Omen site with that weight, which is apparently not the latest.
Cuz it's too expensive and you could have got an Acer with that same configuration for less than 1600 a week or two ago
NM.. over 8 lbs? forget that
Also, it's only just over 6 lbs which is 2 lbs less than your mentioned imaginary weight.
That weight is appropriate for a 17" gaming machine with that configuration.
Just coz it has the same processor and GPU doesn't make it the "same" configuration. Better to have some knowledge before coming here to talk about stuff you clearly have no knowledge about.
For the given specs and considering it recently came out, the Omen 17 is perfectly priced with that discount for now.

You had to search it over here, not Google.
