Just price matched at Best Buy popped it my computer great replacement for my rx580 4gb .
Been running this card for a few days. Very pleased. Does all the games including Cyberpunk at 1440p at over 60FPS at high settings paired with 12100F and 16GB DDR4 RAM and 550W PSU.
Yes, the 6700XT and 3060Ti are not much more $$$, but I chose to go for the 6600XT because it is the highest card that will run without having to upgrade the power supply. The 3060 draws more power and is slower, and now with FSR 2.0 it seems DLSS isn't such a big deal that it would be worth the extra money. Upgrading to the 6700XT will get a nice memory boost both in size and bandwidth but it goes from 160W to 230W and would require a bigger PSU.
Take that as you will -- there is never a right time to buy and there is never a perfect card. Prices will always change and everyone's needs and situation is different. Don't let people talk you into something using promises, fear, FOMO or FUD. If you need a card and you can run this and have the cash, it is the best bang for buck in the mid-tier class right now.
All of the people kicking themselves for waiting for the 3000 and 6000 series to drop so they could get cheap cards and seeing Covid hit and crypto explode and GPU prices skyrocket couldn't predict the future, and they still can't. No one can.
Video card prices will likely continue to fall with the market decline of cryptocurrencies.

Went on the best buy website and got a price match as well. They require you to chat with support on the site then once approved to purchase the item then they refund the difference, which is annoying, but it makes sense to do it that way. For anyone else wanting to do it, here is the best buy item page:
Had Best Buy price match it and set it up to pick it up at my local store in an hour. Thanks. I had bought two rx580's just before covid or maybe a month or so in. Been waiting for normal pricing to upgrade.
Great card for 1080P gaming. Installed one in my daughter's computer recently and it's really awesome. I would recommend it if you're looking to upgrade.
Tempting, but for another $120ish you can get a 6700xt which is a better performer and has 12GB of vram. Same MSI Mech and looks like $10 coupon right now and $15 rebate.
Certainly, you can't go wrong with a 6600 XT card and MSI seems to be well respected (except for support).
As to whether it's a good time to buy or not, prices still seem to be dropping so I doubt there are any amazing deals now that won't appear in near future. NVIDIA is also supposed to be releasing their 4000 series, so that'd put downward pressure on this gen as well.
One interesting note is that when I ordered a 3080 from MSI direct, there was no tax involved so that's something to consider.
All manufacturers (including AMD which has their: RX 6750, 6900 and 6950 cards available) have a pretty wide (and getting wider) selection of cards available so you can keep an eye on inventory as well.

A bit faster than a 3060 and a good amount slower than a 3060ti
