Yeah, that $300 off $1000 is more like $300 off $2000-4000 for premium economy or business. Still a good discount, but would be hard to maximize it with that requirement.

Make sure you call the number and ask for the ticket cost. Sometimes they can give you cheaper tickets than online - only premium economy or up though

One thing you can do is make a booking with Delta for an eligible flight, and then cancel the flight for Delta ecredit that you can then apply on any Delta flight so that you have more options. This would effectively be a 300 off 1000+ Delta ecredit. The ecredit would need to be used up by 12/31/23, for travel throughout 2024.

Yup, you can. There are DPs of booking through the Amex Travel Portal and being able to cancel through Delta website or phone and get e-credits back.

Although they claim you can use these e-credits online, if the original booking wasn't made with Delta or (in a basic economy - which is irrelevant in this case), you can't use these e-credits online. The transaction will fail at the very last step.
Even with Delta Diamond agents, it's a lot of wait time for them to figure it out. Just wanted to let you know.

Ah, this seems to be the exception rather than the norm. I know several people including myself who booked Delta flights with Amex Travel Portal in the past and had no issues cancelling their flight for Delta ecredit and then redeeming those ecredits through the Delta website. Also, I asked several Redditors who did something similar and they had no issues redeeming their Delta ecredit obtained this way.

I'm wondering if you really need to purchase a Premium Economy ticket for this deal. I need a multi-city ticket for a trip later this year, and when I search travel through the promotional link in my personal platinum offer, I can select "International Airline Program" which is what the deal shows up as in my Amex Offers.

Edit: Booked an Economy trip on July 1 in my Amex Platinum Portal, multi-city, and within Amex's "International Airline Program" on Iberia Airlines for $1,068, and got $300 applied to my account on July 8
