Huh, I would have thought that all the high-end laptops this year with the new generation of processors would be 16:10 screen ratio.
Prestige series is like their entry level Premium laptops and still having 16:9 aspect ratio. The next premium level laptops like their Summit series, now all 16:10.
My research on this MSI laptop showed that this model has some poor features.
The weaknesses are dim screen and low battery life.
I am now looking for a better laptop.
This is not what I want for this price range.

The price tag is probably due to new cpu, 1 TB storage, and 32gb memory. You can expect maybe $100-$200 off with 512 GB storage and 16 gb ram once they become available.

This is not just the newer processor but the most powerful P series Processor currently. All the other P series processors like i5-1240p and i7-1260p are having only 4 P cores and 8 E cores. Core i7-1280p, on the other hand, has 6 P cores + 8 E cores. It's basically an i7-12700H with lower TDP. There is hardly any other i7-1280p laptop available from any other manufacturers at this time
Suryasis, did you happen to find any reviews on this puppy yet? As far as features, this is an excellent laptop.
The 15" Galaxy Book Pro 2 with the 12th gen i7 is $1150 at Amazon, but only 16 GB of RAM, a 512 GB drive, and no second-year warranty. But it has a better screen. Decisions...
I applaud MS for going for the gusto with the 1280P version. Their PL2 limit used to be about ~60 or so watts so this wshould perform very well - at least in shorter tasks before heat builds up.
Waiting for that first review to see if they did beef up the cooling.

Not yet, especially for this version with i7-1280p. In fact, I did not find review of any laptop with this i7-1280p Processor. By the way, i5-1240p + 16GB + 512GB version is available in Newegg at $799.99.

I just received this. It runs quite hot and comes with Windows 11 Home, not Pro. I called Costco and they're contacting MSI to investigate. They said other customers have made the same complaint.
I also have doubts that this chassis will be able to dissipate enough heat to make the 1280p useful. A Ryzen 6850U laptop would be ideal but those EliteBook 845 G9s and Lenovo T14, T14s and Z are too expensive.

For casual use, yes. This has its own use case.
