Pretty sweet Chromebook for most. Better performance than Ryzen 3250c Acer 514 deal and miles better than those $100 Chromebooks I see every now and then.

It has 23k Octane. The only downside is the lack of Micro SD and only 4GB RAM. But it's only $160 and it's Chrome OS, not a lot of fo power is required. It should be updated through 2029.

It's super light at only 2.65lbs, convertible and the star of the show is the battery life. It easily lasts about 12 hours on mixed usage. Bonus, it comes with a nice and smooth gorilla glass touchpad.

The price is $158 after the 12% coupon ( it will automatically apply ). And there is an ongoing 5% eBay bucks and Slickdeas 6% Cashback. Which makes it around $140 + tax. Pretty sweet deal!

Warranty:
90 days from Acer and 2 years from eBay/AllState partnership

Honestly, Chrome OS doesn't use much RAM. Most of it goes to buffer RAM. Of course having 8Gb will be fantastic, will definitely improve things here and there. But I have stopped believing in future proving things. And it's only $140 after jumping through quick hoops

Perhaps. Remember, members like me don't get paid for this. It's certified refurbished, which means it's like new or new condition with Acer. Thank you!

This does look like a really nice deal especially if Octane scores are over 20,000. Missing micro SD slot really isn't a big deal with stubby USB thumb drives and USB card readers available. Looks like dual type C ports also. I'd grab one if I didn't have a bunch of Lenovo C340 convertibles from the Walmart clearance.

Oh yeah. I personally don't care about a Micro SD card or having less than 64GB of storage. I have had cloud services and my home server for years now, it doesn't bother me, tbh. It doesn't have two USB-C ports, one supports DisplayPort output and USB-C sharing up to 45W. One full-size USB-Am a headphone jack and a volume rocker for the tablet mode. Pretty cool compact Chromebook for about $140-$150

edit:
according to the TheVerge review, it has a gorilla glass touchpad, backlit keyboard, and USI Pen support, which is awesome!

If you wanna run Crostini and other Linux apps the 4gb ram really isn't enough, you'll run into limitations. Is this screen 250 or 300 nits? If it's 250 it'll do for media consumption, but if you want a media device I'd go with that Asus 17" with a bright beautiful display for about the same price as this. Yeah that's a brick and not really very portable, but gotta figure your use case out.

It should also come with Intel Alder Lake or maybe M1 Chip lol. Where is the link for the Asus? Why does everyone assume that Chromebook buyers automatically going to run Linux apps or they are all developers? This is a basic Chromebook for media consumption, office, and web browsing. And this laptop is about portability and amazing battery life, it's not a powerhouse. Recommending 17-inch laptop here is totally irrelevant, IMO.

Show me a Chromebook or a Laptop with a backlit keyboard, touchscreen convertible 1080P IPS screen, gorilla glass touchpad, 2.65lbs. 13-hour battery life and almost a decade of OS updates for under $150?

Members like me put refurb in the title and description when relevant as a courtesy to fellow members, and since you're already spending so much time in this thread it probably won't cost you anything to add it.

You're totally right given the use case you posted. This is miles above the $100 Chromebooks that are posted. Just want to know more about the display on this one. This absolutely is a steal of a deal for a sub $200 device. If it's only for media consumption at home, I'd look at that Asus 17" that's all I was saying.

You should add that in the title. I'm still trying to understand your analogy of not getting paid and how that is related to add "Certified Refurb" in the title. Most of the deal posters don't get paid but that doesn't mean that they should be not adding the proper info in the title.

Anyway, good deal and +1.

Also, the ebay bucks should not be in the title or in the price as 99% of people are not eligible for that. I have had 2 ebay accounts for over 15 years and none of them have ever gotten an ebay bucks offer in the last 2 years.

I got one of these for a bit over $220 refurb last year. It's plenty fast and I don't think the 4gb ram has been an issue.

One nice thing too is it has a glass touch pad so it doesn't feel cheap
