Cuisinart CGG-888 22-Inch Round Outdoor Flat Top Surface Gas Grill

This hasn't been this low for a long time. I've had an alert on the 3Camels waiting and waiting. I don't think we will ever see the lowest $108 price from 2019, but this is as low as it's been since.

I have this, few thoughts:
-Been outside 2-3 years, covered when not in use, has held up fine in humid NC.
-Heat is not very adjustable, high and higher. Unless you are cooking something rather thin, the outside will cook / burn long before the inside. Fine for breakfast, streaks, chopped vegetables, but not thick pork or bone in chicken nor thick breasts.
-The large surface does work for stir-frying or similar BUT since is completely flat, makes it very easy to knock your food on the ground or into the drip tray (which wraps around the entire plate).
-Drip tray will quickly fill with grease, food, etc. Not pleasant to look at however functional. I guess you could line with foil but the shape would make make the process annoying.
-If your grill is not level or tilted slightly forward, grease will NOT grain from the drip tray in to cup. I ended up 3D printing drink coaster looking things to raise the front wheels, designed with an edge to prevent the wheels from rolling off.
-The round design maximizes flat top area to outside diameter but I would argue wastes space in real world use.

If I were to redesign the cooktop; I'd have it slightly concave or with a lip around the edge, with the grease only draining straight back down a slightly lower channel. Much like your traditionally rectangular griddle.

Not terrible by any means for $150 but I will not cry when it kicks the bucket.

A friend of mine bought this 2 weeks ago at regular price for a special Indian Dosa party (kinda crepes) where we served about 70-80 dosas to the guests and we used this extensively. Per my wife who used this primary has mixed feelings...the round shape and the thickness of the pan were great; however the flame was not very high and hence the food (dosa) was not very crispy. It may be okay for camping and other needs like Rotis/Naan breads but definitely not an ideal choice for Indian dosa.

I also noticed that the product pics on Amazon have a Pizza and I am not quite sure if you can really cook a pizza Confused

Serious question, is this somehow better than just putting a cast iron skillet or flat pan on a normal grill?

I think having a built-in flat/griddle top that's designed specifically for the grill provides more even heat distribution and allows for a better cooking experience.

If you are cooking for one or two, not really but it's MUCH bigger than you would get with a skillet. It's basically the size of a Weber kettle.
