LSI 9207-8i is SAS2. LSI 9300-8i (this one) is SAS3. But yeah, unless you are running this with enterprise SAS3 SSD's, you'll see 0% difference in performance over a quality 9207-8i card running around $40 for a refurb brand name card on auction sites.

FYI for all, unless you are running SAS3 drives, the protocol falls back to SAS2. So if you are planning to attach any SATA drive or SSD, you will only get 6gbps.
You need SAS drive for 12gbps. Even NLSAS is same as SATA.

So save money and get the older generation unless this is for enterprise use case
