I've only had it for a month now, but the solar panel does work and keeps it charged every day. It's used probably 15-30 minutes a day with no issue charging.

I have this camera and it is where i get sunlight around 6/7 hours of the day (depends on the weather/clouds of-course). I have been using this camera for my backyard and I have to say it is amazing. Please note you have to fully charge the camera when you receive it then the solar panel does its thing to keep it "topped" off throughout the day and NO its not a gimmick it actually works. 9 months in and it still shows 100% battery. I have Eufy Cam Pro cameras around the other exteriors of the home where i dont get sunlight and have to bring them down to charge it every 6/7months depending on activity usage, so having one less camera to climb on ladder and bring down was worth it for me. For the camera itself its amazing 2K quality. Check out Lifehackester on youtube he does great reviews.

not a gimmick.

my E40 with solar panel keeps this charged to 100% at all times. without the panel, i only got about 30 days of battery life with the highest recording and motion setting.

Any idea if the solar panel will help in the shade? Only real place I want a camera outside that I don't already have one is the N side of my building, and it's always going to be somewhat shaded there.
