Even worse, a 16tb WD Red was on sale for about $220 a few weeks ago, also on Amazon. I don't know much about Red vs Blue, but I do know that the Red was 7200rpm whereas this Blue drive is only 5400rpm (5640?).
In other words, this is not a good deal at all, when compared to pther recent deals.

That's a pretty bad price, given recent sales. The 4TB WD Blue was $44 just a week or two ago. The sale is over but when I checked Amazon yesterday, it was only $66 or so. That's pretty much the same cost per byte as this one. Higher capacity drives are supposed to cost less per byte than smaller ones, but that's certainly not the case here -- especially since the 8tb one is supposed to be on sale whereas the 4tb one is no longer on sale.

The 16tb red was a very good deal but if I remember right that one sold out very quick. The reds are rated for NAS storage and generally gave 3-5 year warranty instead of 2 like on this drive.
Blue and Green: Slow drives that will maybe last 3 year's. These drives are usually found at Best Buy. Not designed for longestivity or performance..
Purple; Designed for security systems, both residential and commercial. Never had one of these. People say they are decent.
Black: The consumer grade and gaming grade drives. Designed for heavy use, genally quiet function and very reliable.
Red, Red Plus and Red Pro: Very reliable, some are 5400 rpm and some are 7200 rpm. Designed for long data storage systems.
Gold and UltraSfar: DataCenter drives, very loud but will last a long time. Designed to be on 24/7 in harsh environments. Can be expensive.
