its a slim laptop with a gpu and so was the alienware
Slim does not mean light and I can assure you Alienware model you're referring here is slightly thicker and lot heavier. May be you put that Alienware link and we can compare the dimensions and weight side by side.

the alienware was heavier but there have been 4lb slim 3060 deals for under 850.
my MSI is only 4lbs and packs a 3060 and was only 800.
Like you said this isnt a gaming laptop and for 850 in a non gaming laptop I would want more than 1080p and more than a quad core.

Can you point me those under 4lbs gaming laptops with 3060 and only $800. I'm sure you're referring to those all plastic bottom of the barrel cheap gaming laptops with horrible 45% NTSC displays. but please do provide "your MSI" and those other laptop links.

so you want to pay for a premium screen but not a high resolution? and you think this laptop is worth 850 why are there no thumbs up?
who is this laptop for? for content consumption, you'll want higher res or even oled, for gaming, you'll want more gpu and faster refresh rate, for cpu intensive applications, you'll want more cpu cores.
this laptop seems just "meh" in all areas. and 850 for a "meh" experience is no good.
everyone else agrees.

Still waiting for those under 4 lbs, under $800, RTX 3060 laptop links from you. Let's not just blabber and share some actual data.
See all the thumbs up? that's how you know it's a deal.
And what do you know? I clicked on the ebay link and ebay offered to sell me another one brand new at $800.
I'm done responding to your pointless thread. Let's drop it.
I posted that multiple times and I know perfectly well about that Laptop. If you're looking for a cheap gaming laptop, that is a very good choice. But you just failed to realize, somebody looking for a premium laptop for daily usage, travel and decent battery life, won't even be considering that. That abysmally bad display with 45% NTSC is not good for any kind of editing work, the 48 WHr battery with a 45W TDP CPU and 75W TDP GPU will last for 3 hours even with moderate tasks, resulting extremely limited portability.
It is really laughable that when people compare their cheap low end gaming hardware with premium Portable productivity machines. have you ever think of the fact that your $800 MSI is is more powerful than the highest end Dell XPS 15 costing nearly $2000? Then why they even sell that?
By the way, that laptop weights more that 4 lbs. Nothing major but not sure from where you got that sub 4 lbs figure. 4.2 lbs is pretty light but the way these cheaper laptops achieve this by downgrading the quality, use of cheap and flimsy plastic all over, extremely lower capacity battery, completely plastic build, including the hinges.
