The cards that are delivered by email are good at only one of the merchants listed. After getting the e-certificate, you redeem the certificate online for the merchant you desire. The cards that are delivered by USPS mail require no online redemption and are good at any of the merchants listed on the card and may be used with any combination of the merchants up to the maximum value on the card.

The eCards are good. You must decide where you will go, and you can select any value, up to the $57.50, and you will get a single eCard (card number and pin) for use at the brick & mortar store (i.e. you can split the card into $25 Lowes card and $32.50 for Outback)
For Lowes, this is a better deal than the $45 for $50 card (10% off), as this is about 13% off :-)

SO much confusion in this thread.

Happy has 2 different kinds of GC.

The "older" kind, the first kind, and the kind they seem to be transitioning out of - is the type which is basically a prepaid CC that can only be used at certain merchant ID's - for example, Buffalo Wild Wings (depends on what's on the front of the card). These can be spent just like a credit card, at multiple places (front of card). Some retailers will just zero out the card when swiped if the charge amount is greater than the remaining value of the CC (BK does this) and some cannot do that but can charge specific amounts, for example if you know there's $3.57 left on the card you can tell them to split tender and charger $3.57 to the Happy GC to zero it out (BWW is like this). The HUGE benefit to this type of Happy GC is that from the merchant perspective, it's a CC. That means you can buy, in-store, whatever you could buy with a CC which includes 3rd party GC, for example at Lowes and Gamestop. I've bought thousands of $$ in 3rd party GC from Lowes using Happy GC's. The main downside to these type of Happy GC is that generally online purchases won't work - e.g. Lowes in store will work but via the website won't. This is merchant specific.

The "newer" kind, which seems to be what most if not all of these are, are essentially a credit to go to the Happy site and buy 3rd party GC with that credit. You can split it however you like, but it's an added step before actually spending the funds. The biggest downside here, besides there being that extra step, is that you will ultimately get merchant GC, which most merchants do not allow to purchase 3rd party GC (Lowes is like that). If you actually intend to make purchases at a merchant, this kind of card is OK though; personally since the only time I buy Happy GC (Amex seems to have a routine promo) is to get some sort of bonus, I like to parlay that into a merchant where I'd be spending money anyway (e.g. Amazon).
