So....? They are on closeouts.

The 500 series are still fantastic speakers for the price.
Pair of 590, 520 and pair of 530 are under $1200.

That's insane and better deal than the regular Klipsch speakers.

I tried thes in my apartment but unfortunately could not get them to project any bass forward the way my room is setup. could only hear the bass if I stood directly to the side. but I don't like to stand directly to the side of my speakers when I'm listening to music, so I returned them. and they're enormous. other than that they're great.

That's too bad. Sounds like your listening area is in a null spot. Rearranging the layout of listening position and speakers can help that, if you wanted to go that far.

Bass heavily depends on positional and room dynamics. Whether this speaker or any other speaker or even a subwoofer. It's all about sound wave reflections. You could try fiddling with the positions or atleast tow them in angles and see. My 530s perform great in the bass department.

don't get me wrong. I strongly recommend trying them. but my room is very strangely shaped and they didn't work for me. all front ported speakers have worked for me, though, basswise, including jamo s803 and triangle borea br03. I the latter is the best speaker I've tested. but the jbl 530 at 240 is a better deal.

I have a pair of Acoustic Research Performance PS2052 got it for $75 15 years ago and they are placed in living area running in 2.1 setup. They are working fine would like to replace them with JBL, do you recommend?

I said the same thing in the last JBL studio thread and got downvoted to oblivion.

I love the speakers but ultimately we are on a deals website and this is no longer a deal. This is the regular price for this product.

If our community recognizes this and decides not to bite anymore then these speakers will become cheaper and more people can experience these.

Keep fighting the good fight by trying to save people some coin.
