I need to reinstall new cameras that were installed 2 years ago. We paid someone 10k to install 12 new cameras around a warehouse and they cut out if the power ever goes out and needs to be readded manually. They keep saying we need to upgrade now.. but it's only been 2 years. Figured I'd just learn myself
Does anyone have guidance on a system that works? I love the eufy UI but for commercial use, I'm sure it's not going to be great.

Hi Jon ..
There are a number of different camera systems .. in general, if appropriately configured a camera system should be able to recover from a power outage.
You will need to know the OEM of the camera system, the make and model of the DVR/NVR and cameras, configuration of the network, .. coax vs ip system?
There are a number of websites out there that covers some of this ..
of course sometimes if you have the funds, it is easier to hire a consultant ...
remember to use UPSes to reduce power outage interruptions.

Yeah, I'm going to install a UPS to backup modem/switch this week. It's an IP system on POE. I'm not sure of the branding of either the NVR or cameras. I did some research on Reddit and seems like people recommend Hikvision as long as it's set up properly on vlans. Just trying to see if anyone knew of a specific brand that they'd vouch for over REOLINK or Amcrest or Lorex for ease of use and reliability. But I'm just following blogs like https://www.vueville.com/blog/how...ra-system/ to help with the process..

Hikvision and Dahua are the 2 largest OEMs .. they make a lot of cameras which get rebranded.
In general, I would try to keep your current system .. and find ways to configure it so that it recovers better after a power outage.
If you got a decent system, it should be able to be setup better imho.
ipcamtalk is a place I learned a lot from, and you can look for more info there ..
first thing you want to do is Identify the kit you have .. then identify why is behaving the way it is .. it will take you some time to learn this.

I appreciate the response. I will visit ipcamtalk and raise my situation after I find out more information regarding the branding of the NVR and Cameras. The installers came back and just were keen that i needed new hardware and warranties were expired. I'll look into it more!
Thank you MAT!
