Very practical watch. I have this watch for about 8 years and it's been running solid. I "lost" it and was surprised to find the watch to have some battery left even after a year of it being in a drawer.

It's not the greatest looking watch but it's definitely one I have the longest and have no doubt will last many more years to come.

Note: the watch is a little bulky

Agreed. While I used to love gshock, these days I can live without built in gps and smart functionality on a watch. Feels like Casio missed a huge opportunity while other brands moved to smart watches. For now I'm stuck with Garmin watches and Instinct would be next if I ever upgrade

Thanks for the recommendations, repped! I have been looking for a rugged watch that still has the functions that I use on my galaxy watch given all of the work on the house inside and out lately. I was thinking of a g-shock so this post seemed perfect timing, but this Garmin instinct is at completely different level of function... not even the same sport. I hadn't really considered Garmin watches for a while given their price, this is WAY cheaper that I remember their high function watches. Also, I am supporting a company whose WHQ is in my town and I have friends that work there, bonus!

I wear a G-shock every day and own a few. This model is very bulky. If you don't mind that it's a great watch.

Just thought I'd share a place to get good cheap G Shock watches if your on a budget and don't mind used. I've got some amazing deals on the Goodwill auction site. Including G Shocks for less than $25, Mudman, etc. Sometimes I've taken a chance and bought non working watches for 10 bucks and they needed nothing but a battery! Many times these donated watches to Goodwill just have dead batteries and for 10 bucks on a $200 watch, I'm willing to take a chance as long as the case and band are in good condition. I've also purchased some amazing vintage watches like old Casios, calculator watches, melody/music watches etc. Picked up a few Seikos and other brands as well, all for really cheap. I usually log in once a week to see what's newly listed. Their auction site doesn't have near the traffic that Ebay has, so not everything gets bid up all the time.
