While it is true that the CPU is two generations old and the specs are average, it is a deal in the sense that you cannot find another touch screen laptop at this size and weight from a reputable brand at this price point. You could get a non-touchscreen Gateway laptop if that is what you are looking for.

Yeah I guess you could add a 256 GB SD card for storage, I did that with my work laptop, if you don't want to deal with the difficult SSD replacement.

It does not, you're correct. The thing on the right side that looks like an SD slot is the Surface Connect port.
