I have two of these which I bought last October from Best Buy for almost $370 each. This is a steal honestly. It has so many features and is worth it for multitasking and double monitors. Yah, compared to other monitors, it is very dim...

I like this Monitor! Brightness has never been a problem for me. It's in my bedroom and I mostly use it for the evening and on rare occasions, work from home. My brightness is 13-16 during the night and 50-60 during the day. I watch movies, games, and programming. It has nice speakers too. It's a good all-in-one setup. I don't see much difference between IPS and these displays so didn't spend too much money on getting an IPS display.

My next monitor in 2 years is gonna be Oled just to get that immersive experience.

Edit: The numbers for brightness are Samsungs scale for this monitor between 0 to 100. I am not referring to lumens or anything.

I bought this once and the brightness was shockingly dim. The viewing angles were also unusually poor. I'm not a monitor snob. Even my non-techy mother commented "why is that monitor so dim?" when she was over and saw it. I returned it.

I actually prefer a dim monitor since I'll be using in a dark area of my house. Currently have to set my LG 27" 4K monitor to 0 at night (still little bright) and 10% during the day. Maybe this will be a nice monitor for the purpose.

It is not likely has direct sun light shining on that so it is bright enough.
