You'll just need to use switch that supports HomeKit, as long as it also supports LEDs it should work without issues (you might need a neutral wire for such switch to be present inside the box so check that first), if you have just one jacket inside the box with only two wires coming out it most likely means you only have hot coming in and leaving inside single wire and no neutral present. Some switch might require only ground instead of neutral so it should be ok.
However, you can simply add a "smart" light switch ( I use TPLink KASA) to do the same trick.

you probably have a bad light or a crappy switch/dimmer.
I have the same issue. I use the GE switches. They work great, although when using LEDs it needs a resistor to work properly.
