TLDR: looks like they trade blows, neither is massively better, but I'd probably take the Hynix at the same price. As I posted above, you should consider the Firecuda 520 deal.

The main difference is the massively better 3x more write endurance (not that this one is bad), and future proofing for a future PCIE 4.0 system (or better performance if your current setup already has 4.0).
The longevity benefit for the Firecuda is worth the $10 extra for me so I won't cancel my order. If you are using it for a laptop, then this will probably be better because this particular drive is so power efficient. I think the Seagate is also double layer and won't fit in some systems.

The Firecuda is faster across the board, including under heavy load where both drives are within PCIe 3.0 bandwidth constraints. So even if you don't have a PCIe 4.0 slot available, there are real latency and throughput benefits to the Seagate.

curious how Hynix does when it goes beyond the predicted life. On Samsungs (both Pro and Evo, 960 thru 980) they can well past 300%...
