VW did a full carpet spot cleaner comparison with six different units at the end of 2021 and the Little Green Machine was ranked in the middle (though for $89 it is rougly $100 cheaper than those other units). His sentiments were that they all basically provided equal cleaning abilities if you understand how to use them correctly. The dfferences in ranking basically came down to QA, accessories differences and reservoir size. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IrJx6TE9uTY
I really like the compactness of the Little Green Machine and it's versitility to act as both a carpet spot cleaner and also as a upholstery cleaner for use on chairs and in your car.

I had one of these for awhile, ended up with a ton of circles on my carpet that were slightly cleaner. Swapped it out for a regular carpet cleaner so that I could clean more without having to keep picking it up and running it again on a different spot. Much less trouble in the long run.

You are thinking about the bissel spot bot cleaner, this one does not do the auto clean like the spot bot does. This is just a hose and handle, have to manually operate it. but yes to your point this is just for small spots (main positive is how portable it is), if you want a lot of area then get a full blown carpet cleaner.
I have a Bissel spot bot cleaner (not what is in OP) and it is nice for if there is one pee spot and I don't want to get out the full blown carpet cleaner, although the suction for the robo clean is not that great and I have to go over it with handle to get all the water sucked up.
Curious what makes this so good for pet {cat} stains {pee & poop}?? I've gotten most of it up, but IDK for sure.
I have my own solution; must I use theirs?

You can use whatever you want. All it does is spray it before it vacuums it up.
I used it on chairs, carpets and seats.. it got rid of a ton of nasty stains.. It doesn't work as well on the mattress though.. It just soaks into the bed.

For anyone interested in this, the 1400M is identical to the well reviewed 1400B Bissel Little Green Machine except that it's:
1. Dark green vs. light green
2. Is much less expensive (at least on the Walmart site)
Here's a good video of this unit from VacuumWars: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gxueq3I
