Amazon has 10"x20" LEGO compatible baseplates, pack of four in assorted colors, for $11.45. Recent price drop and cheapest new price according to camelcamelcamel by far!
I also got 5% off as a clippable coupon on the page, but that may be YMMV.
The reviews are a mix of good and bad, and I ordered but haven't received yet. Can report back once I do!

Good for making Lego tables apparently. Enjoy!

These are not LEGO compatible, according to the reviews that mention LEGO compatibility:

Legos don't click in well. If you're trying to click on any lego larger than like a 3x3 they do not click on. Theses board won't even click onto each other. Taking a closer look at everyone's pix posted on here and noticed no one has anything other than tiny connected to the boards. Everything else is just sitting on top.

if you try to attach anything bigger, one side will attach while another side will pop up. They're close, but by no means a perfect match. I can stand the people on them, but I can't attach the houses and other big parts of my sets.

I can get smaller LEGO bricks to attach but it's impossible to get LEGO plates to attach to these,

It is a trash if we can`t put lego on. Have to throw them out!!

Upon first inspection, all was well, but once we tried putting more than a 4x2 block on these bases, we had trouble. One side connects very roughly, while the other side pops up. There's no way to get any of their houses or creations to connect.
Buyer beware -- these are 'LEGO compatible' the same way a table is -- technically, you CAN set LEGOs on top of these -- but not much more.
