These are worth $1500 max, recession is coming and people aren't buying. These would work in a small medium room and you do need to get stands for it to sound nicely.

Buy some Elacs or another budget decent brand, power them with a Chinese chip amp, and compare those for $600 to these and see if you can even hear the difference. 95% of people wouldn't be able to.

I'm with money_badger, what a funny item to be on SD. How many SDers are looking to drop $2k+ on some bookshelf speakers? these are like exotic cars - isn't half the reason for buying these to tell people how much you paid for them? these should be on a marked-up-sale for the ultra wealthy who need to reach spending goals to earn extra airline perks on their credit cards.

I agree with this except that elac has lost some cred after they raised their prices by 4 times inflation on models like the debut 6.2(raised from 299 to 399 in response to 8% inflation).
