I have those too and unscrewing caps, opening and closing cheap battery door compartments, broken o-rings, etc…🤮🤮🤮. I'm Never going back to that compared with the ease of in-body charging with usb-c. Hope it works out for you though!!!

Got this a few weeks back and I think it's a fantastic light at $16 (although it was $1 cheaper before).

A high quality 18650 cell , which means replaceable too once it wears down, can double as an 18650 charger (albeit micro usb), solid construction, detachable and can be pen clipped or head mounted with included strap. The Turbo mode is BRIGHT. For $16 I don't think you'll find anything else as versatile and solid.

Also includes two weird batteries that are like $3-5 worth I guess.

Got the headlamp today. Super impressed. Nice even reflector and high quality parts all around. A steal at $16. 1000 lumen boost (long hold the switch) is so bright at night!

Can you really charge other regular 18650 batteries in this, like those from salvaged laptop battery packs? There are some reports that the 18650 battery that comes with the headlamp is longer than standard 18650 batteries. I think the longer version of 18650 batteries are "protected"? I guess some kind of metal filler material would be needed with shorter 18650 batteries in order to make contact with one side of the charger, but I'm not sure if it would be safe to charge in such a setup.

Hey so I got an old EBL 3.7v 3000mah battery to try…the EBL is obviously shorter than the included battery. However, when I inserted it, it functioned normal! And when inserted the micro usb cable, status light went to red indicating charging.
