It's $10 less than the reference card was, which is good, but it would really be a deal closer to $400. It's a great card, good alternative to a $500 3060 ti if that's your only other option, but if you can get a $400 3060 ti it's not worth springing for this. Performance wise it's between a 3060 ti and 3070, but closer to a 3060 ti.

Was that confusing?

In other words: HODL.
192 bit or 256 bit, that's just the bus width, the bandwidth is what matters and that depends on the speed of the memory as well. There is absolutely nothing about having a 192 bit bus that makes this card "crippled" as a "future proof" card. There is also no such thing as "future proof". The 6700xt is a solid 1440P that's somewhere between a 3060Ti and a 3070 (closer to the former). It will probably serve you well for 3-4 years at 1440 P (especially with FSR2.0).
Not really... I can manage w/ my 1080TI for the time being so I can wait as long as it takes. I have the disposable cash to buy a 6800 XT, but refuse to pay at an arbitrarily marked up price.

As long as I have been using GPUs going all the way back to VooDoo FX; Power Color wasn't the brand when it came to reliability that was Sapphire. Also no one mentions the bit rate interface on these threads when they post the cards so I will post it. This card has a bit rate interface of 192 bit. Which cripples what is supposed to be a future proof card. I suggest looking for a card with a higher bit rate interface for future proofing.
I believe all 6700 XT's are 192-bit...but I can see how that might be important to some, so I added it

What card, pray tell, do you recommend for "future proofing"?

I'm just glad to see prices come back down so more gamers could stay in PC gaming cause gpu scalping/mining/shortages were starting to create demand destruction.

Yes. 6700 xt is a great card for 1440p gaming. I have a reference card and it's beautiful on a 32 inch uw display

Disingenuous. The use of "Infinity Cache" (L3 cache) negates the lower bus width, and the 12 GB of VRAM helps future proof the card.

Edit: Here's something fun, a "fair price" index using the RTX 3070 (4K) as a reference point:

https://videocardz.com/newz/this-...ance-alone

It puts the 6700 XT at $441 currently.

If you have the patience, why bother buying one of these when next gen cards are right around the corner?... I'm holding out till next gen cards release so these current gen cards flood the market at discounted prices after they come out. 6800 XT, here I come 😅
