    Are platform racks worth 4x the price over this? (at minimum). We don't have super fancy bikes, 2 adults (Fuji and Cannondale) and two kids bikes, but will I immediately regret just not sucking it up and getting a platform model rather than this?

    I want to know the same thing. I got the 5 bike version of this model and it's been excellent. I'm not sure if paying 600-800 for Yakima or Thule would be worth it.
