1) So unlike some of the Omen prebuilts, you can swap out this power supply if it fails down the line?

2) So I don't know why HP uses DDR4 ram for these 12th generation intel cpus, but can you add DDR5 ram to this motherboard? Not sure if the ddr5 is dependent on the cpu or both the cpu and motherboard.

DDR4 only. Motherboard is cost cutting stripper model. I thought there were tests done that show not much difference between ddr4 and ddr5 with stock settings.

Power supply is standard ATX size with 24pin motherboard connector and 2x4pin cpu.

When purchasing memory, make sure it is 1.2v and has JEDEC timings of 3200mhz. HP doesn't support XMP timings on this motherboard so ram will run at slower timings unless it is 1.2v and supports JEDEC timings.

Both systems in the original post use the same motherboard.

I use 2 sets of these in my system for 32gb and it runs at 3200mhz (max speed for this motherboard)

I have 64gb of this stuff at home: https://www.corsair.com/us/en/Categories/Products/Memory/VENGEANCE-LPX/p/CMK32GX4M2E3200C16?utm_sour... [corsair.com]

It says 1.35v tested voltage and 1.2v SPD voltage whatever that means. Can't find anything about JEDEC. This HP Envy looks like a good deal but I was hoping to use the RAM I already have.

The Ram you have will work. It may run at a lower speed 2666mhz instead of 3200. This isn't a big deal or even a big performance hit on intel system. You may as well install it and see what mhz the Ram runs at.
