Is this a good unit actually? I am thinking about about a backup power for router/cable modem for my waifu workstation with Dual work monitors and a work laptop. TIA. Recently had a storm and she wasn't able to work for 3-4 hrs...
Unit is Lithium-Ion. Market is heading towards LiFePO4, which has a longer shelf life and is safer.
This dead horse might be beaten up on more so than the pure sine wave generator debate lol..
There are still use cases for lead acid batteries and lithium even since lifepo4 is out. Some the primary drivers is cost vs capacity / weight / use cases in terms of charge cycles etc.
Just ask yourself if cost to performance is important and if you'll be discharging/charging frequently (think once a week or so at least), if you said "yes" then "no" you aren't getting as much out of lifepo4 as you could and li-ion might be a better bargain.
As far as safety goes I probably have 100+li-ion batteries in my house in various devices, I am not putting out fires every day and I doubt many of you are either. Yes it can happen, but it's extremely rare, and most of the ones you hear about are putting the batteries in excessive direct heat, puncturing them etc.
This has higher peak output, otherwise, the previous deal of River Pro + extra battery at Costco is cheaper and has higher capacity. The same deal at Costco has been offered several times within the past 10 months.
