Boost "Orange Sim": T-Mobile, Boost "Black Sim": AT&T.

Is your phone compatible with Boost AT&T? Make sure your phone is on this list as your phone has to be AT&T "VoLTE Compliant and Approved".
List newly updated as of July 6th,2022*

Link:
Code:
https://www.att.com/idpassets/images/support/pdf/Devices-Working-on-ATT-Network.pdf

Having troubling activating the sim you received? 2 Activation messages people are running into:

1. "Incompatible device": This means your phone is not compatible with Boost and or AT&T's network. You will need a phone from the PDF list above to get back to compatible status.

2. "Something went wrong with your request. Please try again later": Boost may have accidentally sent you a bad sim and there are 2 ways to fix that: 1. Go to a local Boost Mobile store and ask a rep to assist in activation or just ask for a new sim. 2. Ask Boost CS for a new one but it may or may not get to you soon.

3. Some people are reporting going to this website:
Code:
http://my.boostmobile.com
, click "Activate" in the top right, this may get you up and running.

User Aokusman reports receiving a Black(AT&T) sim and it took about an hour to activate but after he got around 230 Megs per second.

Having trouble activating your phone's data on Boost AT&T? I did too until I put this APN in my phone(YMMV):

Name: AT&T
APN: ERESELLER
Proxy: Not set
Port: Not set
Username: Not set
Password: Not set
Server: Not set
MMSC: http://mmsc.mobile.att.net
MMS proxy: proxy.mobile.att.net
MMS port: 80
MCC: 310
MNC: 410
Authentication Type: None
APN type: default,mms,supl,hipri,fota
APN protocol IPv4/IPv6
Bearer: Unspecified

AT&T Network status:

5G+: MmWave which is AT&T's lightning fast 5G network, is live and available in select cities and in select areas.(5G Phone/5G Sim required)

5G: Also known as LTE+NR NSA, this tech is when a carrier pairs LTE and 5G Non Stand alone tech together to keep speeds high when MmWave is not available. 5G Standalone(SA) does not need LTE to work. (5G Phone/5G Sim required)

5Ge/4G LTE: What's the difference between 5Ge and 4G LTE? not much really other than 5Ge means your area may have been upgraded with newer tech/higher speeds on LTE via Carrier Aggregation(CA).

4G HSPA+: This network is being shutdown, will no longer be available starting August 1st, 2022.

3G HSDPA/HSUPA: This network is being shutdown, will no longer be available starting August 1st, 2022.

2G/GPRS/GSM: This network is shut down and no longer exists.

Have a phone that is no longer AT&T Compliant? Take it to T-Mobile or ask Boost and see if you can get a "Boost T-Mobile sim".

*Note: Boost may have additional requirements for phone compatibility, AT&T compatibility list may update at any time. Xiaomi devices are now banned from AT&T(did not meet AT&T certification requirements), select Huawei/ZTE devices still allowed. Tablets may not be supported, check with Boost first weather a tablet will work with this plan or not.

My Mother in Law uses Boost. I was surprised to find out that the service does not support WiFi Calling feature. Cellular reception at my home sucks, so I found out the hard way that we just can't use their service at our house. Mint Mobile on the other hand does. Just thought I would share my experience.

Presuming this is their AT&T based service (which it appears to be) then they DO support Wifi calling on it. They do not support it on T-Mobile, which is what you get if you but it from somewhere like Best Buy.

Hi huge,

You are thinking of another offer of ours, $5/Mo. for 5GB for your first 3 months. This is offer is $10/Mo. for Unlimited data for your first 3 months.

Curious about the downvotes. Seems like a good deal compared to the $15/month that Mint Mobile is currently offering. What's the catch?

For me I noticed a lot of dead zones and de-prioritization. I got the 5 dollars per month for 3 months deal, but I would not get it again unless it was free (which it might end up being for me because you can spin a wheel daily for free credits). I live in the heart of the city, noticed deprioritization here. At a nearby park, I notice a large dead zone where I get no data.

Great deal.

Even better than the Mint deal that just expired.

Thanks for the feedback. Boost seems to use AT&T, so curious if what you're experiencing in terms of deadzones is an AT&T issue, or specifically a Boost issue? I've used Red Pocket with a GSMA (AT&T) SIM and reception is decent, no worse than Mint Mobile with T-Mobile towers.
