I bought one. I really liked those generators from costco but could not spend $800 for a 10,000 watt generator when a 5,000 watt provides enough power for everything but the air conditioner. At $400 its a deal. I had a generac 4500 and it worked fine for over 10 years when i lost power due to hurricanes knocking down all the power lines. Air condition is a not needed during an emergency.

Highlights on Sams product page says 6580/5500(gas) and 5922/4950(propane).

Description on Sam's product page says 6850peak(gas) and 5300peak(propane).

Pulsar's product page says 6850/5500(gas) and 5922/4950(propane).

Home Depot's product page says 6580/5300(gas) and 5922/4750(propane).

The title and descrption here on SD says 6580/5300(gas).

Sure makes this generator sound promising. In any case, $416shipped after tax isn't bad so I grabbed one. Already have a Champion 4375/3500 dual-fuel w/ wheel kit and cover, but one is none and two is one when it comes to stuff like this in my opinion.
Its best to have an electrician install a transfer switch. The switch will transfer power from the power lines to the generator. No need to run extensionpower cords. The switch will be installed at your breaker mains box and a cable to the generator. So when you lose power, run the generator, transfer power switch.

Looks like a great deal, one of the best prices I've seen on a dual-fuel generator that offers 240V (transfer switch ready). Likely a little noisy, but a comparable inverter generator would be more than twice this much!
I just wish my Sams Club membership hadn't just expired, lol!

If the high temps and humidity is unbearable, you could power a small A/C window unit to at least keep one room comfortable.

I live in a house that loses power frequently because it's up a long road with many trees and the local power company doesn't trim the trees around the line. Thinking of buying this. What sort of extension cords would I need to run appliances in the house like a 12,000 btu portable AC, fridge, etc? Thanks!

126 lbs dry, with 5.2 gallons of fuel it would be around 156 lbs.
