How does this chainsaw compare to gas? I love that it's battery powered so I'll never need to buy gas, butttttt how much power does it actually have?.?.?.

It's typically rated very highly from what I've read and compares favorably to gas in terms of power.

its on par capability wise with mid grade home saws. great for limbing and bucking, you won't be felling stuff that calls for a 70cc+ stihl or running a mill with it. lends itself double because won't have the maintenance of a two stroke used once every couple years. Makita has some nice limbing saws that are appealing for pro arborists but otherwise all of these rear handles are squarely for HOA homeowners and that's not a bad thing.

My neighbor has a Stihl, and I borrow it a couple times a year to cut up some firepit wood.
I wouldn't buy it unless I liked maintaining gas engines....and this neighbor does, lol.
For residential use, if I was buying, I'm buying this or an EGO.
In for one - wife and I have been wanting this for a while to go with the rest of our M18 tools, but we were waiting for a deal that included a decent battery
Only a deal for those that already have or want to get into the M18 lineup. This chainsaw is too slow and overpriced to own as a standalone; there are much better options like Ego or Greenworks in this price range.
