Replacement remotes are $19.99 from the Google Store. Use the Google Home app on your phone or tablet to navigate the onscreen menus to pair your replacement remote.
Bunch of deals happening lately on the Chromecast with Google TV; with the Google Hardware event around Beginning of October, it looks like a new model is coming soon.
I wish but doubt it. The main thing they need to upgrade is storage.

never again using chromecast ultra. bought 2 of these, after few months, the display will look garbage. then you tried to restart to make the display good again. also, you should not load plenty of apps since these have low storage capacity. apps wont run properly or will run slow when at almost full capacity storage. just my own experience.
Are you referring to Chromecast Ultra or Chromecast with GoogleTV?

Some guys mention. If you lose the remote. You're screwed if you need to do factory reset the device. You can't pair it ever again.
Cheapest way to get atmos in netflix but very glitchy software. I often have to power off and power on my denon for it to emit surround sound or else it gets limited to stereo.

Personally I'm super happy with mine. Not sure what all the fuzz is about. I honestly have no criticism. Some people complain about storage but how many apps do you really need? I got like 15 installed but probably only use 7 and I still got plenty of space.
What's really nice is that this can turn into a great game streaming service stick. I use it play Stadia and it's been great. If you hate on Stadia, there's still also Steam Remote Play and GeForce Now and if you want to you can sideload other apps.

Possibly. The current one was first available in October two year ago. Hopefully new one has more storage space.

I've installed 4 of them for my place and various family members. We've never had a problem.
