Free sample of Loctite

+52 Deal Score

This just popped up on my FB newsfeed. Seems like a good deal to try it out.
The choices of samples include on of the following:

Threadlocker - Loctite 243, 0.5ml
Threadlocker - Loctite 263, 0.5ml
Retaining Compound - Loctite 680, 0.5ml
Thread Sealants - Loctite 567 TB, 6ml EN

Please note, after I submitted the request, it asked me to verify the request via an email they sent to me. So make sure you use a valid email address. Also, it said that they were evaluating my sample request, so they may deny it.

Enjoy!!

Would any of these be good on a rattling computer case fan?

TU for free sample! Got lots of the red, need blue.

Note these are intended as leads to continued commercial use, not as free giveaways to the general public, so it's good to have business address/connection info that can be used on the request form (at least for the one I filled out).

For all, including those who don't have a product application with ongoing need, the company should consider this free sample program as good advertising.

TY for posting. Thumbup

If the screw is tightened and the sound goes away then your problem might be screws going loose, which would help. But threadlocker won't do anything beyond that such as sound absorption. A washer might work as well.

Be careful with threadlocker though because if you get the use the wrong stuff you may permanently glue stuff together to the point you would need to drill out the hole/damage permanently. "Red" threadlocker is typically not what average joe wants for household use.

Thanks. I will probably pass on this then as it seem to be a little bit beyond what I need. Tightening the screws doesn't seem to make much difference on the rattling so I think it might be the motor in one of the fans for my NZXT CAM fan bundle, especially since when the fan spins down it stops rattling. Probably just need to get some good grade lubricant for it. Any recommendations?

Just cross thread your screws/nuts and you'll get a free sample every time.

Great for the loose joystick ball on Arcade1up machines. 1 drop of the blue stuff is enough. Honestly it's not very expensive to begin with and you use so little. The blue 242/243 is what you want. The red is permanent so not really for typical usage.

These samples probably come in an unsealable container. Though, Loctite doesn't really dry up when exposed to air. The opposite is true.

Also, it's sweet. Keep away from kiddos.

0.5ml of loctite seems to be $2 or less online. Is this just for (1) 0.5ml sample? Doesn't seem worth it. Where are all the "your information isn't worth $2" people at and all my "you give away you information for free anyways" people?

These are more industrial/metal-to-metal versions that require heat application for removal. I personally had no idea they had all these versions...but this isn't what I need for that bolt in my car that keeps getting loose. If I used these I wouldn't be able to get the bolt loose - ever.

Here are some application notes on the first link with 4 available products.

None of the other products are useful in a typical household setting.

243 is best for most applications, and parts can usually be removed for service without heat.

263 is a semi permanent thread locker and screws should be heated to break the bond before removal.

680 is permanent and fills very small gaps. Use for dowels and bearings pressed into metal.

567 is pipe thread sealant, what many call "pipe dope".

Loctite 243 (blue) is a medium strength thread locker and would absolutely be perfectly cromulent for use in an automobile

Yep. But they probably know all this about you already. But yeah super small sample not worth it.

I feel this may risk your home address being exposed to future advertising mails.
