Not a bad price. These are about $9.30 on Amazon Japan right now, but if you are not ordering a bunch of stuff to combine shipping, you will pay twice that to ship them. Replacement jaws are about $2.10 but again, you will want to find them in the US or import them with a bigger order from Amazon Japan or the postage won't make any sense financially.

I don't own anything from this brand, but I've had no complaints about any made in Japan hand tools I've bought over the years.

They've been hovering around this price for the last 3 or 4 years. Definitely not any kind of "deal".

You can find them on ebay, but the sellers I saw all want more for the replacement pads (2 full sets per pkg) than the entire pliers is selling for, here, on Amazon.

Japan must be doing poorly economically. Tools are a bargain!

https://www.amazon.co.jp/-/en/IPS...B06XC589W1

or ebay: https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_...7&_sacat=0

Watch price vs shipping on those, many are from Japan.

The opening is too small for any practical plumbing use.

Not true at all. For larger plumbing fixtures such as drains no but a strap wrench or staight jawed wrench can be used. For something like an aerator, supply lines or handle that is being stubborn these would be ideal. You have to expand out beyond plumbing to get some idea of full utility, but I can think of hundreds or more instances that I could have used these versus trying to cushion some regular pliers with tape or something. Look through the reviews to see where they have been invaluable, and it is much more than just plumbing.

Hey, just wanted to follow up with my purchase of these pliers. First of all, yes, they're very nice and well worth the price... the forging on them is very smooth, as well. That said, I had them hanging on a peg hook in my garage in the original packaging. I cut the 2 zip ties that held it into the cardboard card adorned with a bunch of writing in Japanese (these are clearly Japanese market pliers)... and was just about to throw away/discard the cardboard sleeve when I realized there is a sticker covering a clear window on the BACK of the package (in the bottom left corner).

The sticker appears to have the part/item info... but I noticed that inside that little window was a SPARE SET OF PLASTIC JAWS. And that's not an insignificant thing... those spare jaws are selling for something like $16 - $20 for a two pair pack... which is at least $8 a pair.

Just wanted to make sure nobody missed that!
