Note: There is a venting defect with the gas cap (as in it does not vent well). If you loosen the cap before starting, it will start on the 1st or 2nd pull. I was able to contact Westinghouse and they send me an improved, venting gas cap (with the on/off venting switch, as seen in the manual). I then used the original gas cap to make an extended run kit with some bulkhead fittings and a marine gas tank.
igen2500 is excellent for hard starting loads. The Data Center is highly useful and not found on other models. As with all gens unpack inspect and break in during the free return period. Save the box and packing if you can. The included oil bottle is useful for future measuring. The warehouse will accept these back for return if drained of fuel and oil and the tank is rinsed and air dried which is easy to do. This is how they prepped for shipping after the production test run.
Call and confirm your order. Nothing happens to it until the back office creates a PO# and tells W to ship it out. For some reason Sam's will let generator orders languish unless you call to confirm and eventually it gets canceled especially for new members. Call back if you do not see shipping confirmation within a week.
It will start right up after storage if you tip it over to drain the tank then pull the clear plastic tube out and twist the float bowl screw to drain the bowl and the fuel lines. Let the gen air dry in the sun. Bonus is store inside with no odors for longer life. Replace the spark plug with an NGK or similar and check for a cracked insulator. Don't forget the air filter. When adding fuel be very careful to keep fine dirt and rust out.
Not needed.
Shutting off the gas with a petcock will not empty the float bowl OR drain the fuel lines. No need to baby sit the procedure as I describe above. You can store it longer with genuine ethanol-free gasoline but it runs better on fresh fuel and there is still varnish developing over time in the carb with all pump gasoline.

Mine also takes 6-8 pulls. Ethanol-free gas in mine only. The biggest negative is that there isn't a gas shutoff like on some other generators. You have to drain the float bowl manually if you plan on storing this for a while. I just start mine every few months to ensure it starts when I need it.
BTW, does Sam's Satisfaction Guarantee work with this? I have Amazon GC, but "Lifetime" guarantee is more valuable

Not sure I grabbed on last deal as a backup plan for running my furnace in the winter via a transfer switch. Ended up instead using it when we lost power for 4 days after a bad storm. Ran a 12k window ac, fridge, freezer and a bit of an overboard pc gaming pc. It hit about 70% cap when everything was firing but man did it save the day on a few 90 degree days. Mainly ethanol free other than day 3 and then I ran it dry before putting it away. Few extra pulls needed after sitting for a whole kinda just enough to make me think I did setting wrong. Good to break it in too, set it up with the oil they give you and run it for 4 hours under load but not over 50%. I changed the oil at the 2 hour mark and again after the 4 hour mark 100% satisfied. Considering converting something to a generator shed cause I wouldn't be comfortable leaving this thing out in severe weather as the front panels and outlets in use are a bit exposed but that's any generator really.
Can you give detail info on your transfer switch? Did you have an electrician install it?
There are a number of folks that have purchased items at Sam's, and years later when/if that item messed up, Sam's returned/exchanged. It is their "Satisfaction Guarantee" policy.
