Agreed. Fabric topped ones are really not functional for much. Recommend if you really want to use a table for something, you go with a hard-top of some sort. Lots of options out there.

I have this same model. It is fine for eating or playing cards on. As others noted, not for food prep or cooking. I do like the double layer though. Really increases available surface are for small and lighter items.

For $30 it is a great value, but I wouldn't pay full price for it.

Yep. Although they are fine for a few drinks and throwing your phone or small tablet on. That's about it. Otherwise look for a hard top.

Its hard to tell if people are just commenting to comment or what. In real world use when camping these things are useless. when camping you look to: put your drink down or 2 have a reliable surface to eat on. These things are practically useless for both. If you need a table while camping, then get a solid surface table. If weight is an issue, maybe dont bring tables camping?

Get a small box, put the box on this "table" and your drinks on the box. Also, y can't u eat on this surface? Yes hard top tables are nice but this is foldable. Not everyone has a big trunk

We've had one for a couple years and it is a great secondary table when camping. There are 4 cup holders on the bottom level which are great places to store sippy cups for a kids without taking up a cup holder in an adult chair. Great for card games or other activities like crafts. Need a place to put a few bags of chips, put 'em here. The side straps are great for pulling the soft top really taut. Friends are always commenting about how great it is.

I also have the one from Costco. It's nice and compact, but not as much surface area especially if you have drinks in the cupholders.

It really depends what size you need, what your weight requirements are, and what your budget is. If you want something similar to this with a hard top that isn't too expensive and doesn't take up a ton of space maybe something like this:

In our tent we use a folding bamboo table that's a little bigger and a lot more expensive (about $80 on sale.

I'll second that the type of table in this post has limited functionality. It works good as a night stand or a chair side table to set a plate and some drinks, but we ultimately moved on to other table tops.
