I got it, exploring it more but noticed some issues with Wi-Fi speed and drops, hinge creeking and few others
What I have noticed is my photo editing program--DXO PhotoLab 4 Elite can really tax the machine and make the program bottleneck for a short period of time. I was a little surprised at this, but overall it was still quicker with the program than my five-year-old Omen 15" (it better be, right? lol). I don't think the port hub I bought for it that I ran my SD card for it was the issue, but the files were from my 42mp Sony A7riii. I do wish it had more ports, but I knew what I was getting into on that front. Machine runs cool, although it did heat up with the DXO software when I was running my files through denoising (taxing process). Still, a big step up from that old Omen.
I am going to rip Blu Rays and DVD with this next, so maybe I'll post back on how that goes. Will also load up Adobe CS5 (old program, but huge) and see how it takes.
For most of what I use it for (Office, browsing and YT) it has been brilliant, just like I expected it to be. The portability of the Carbon 14 has been a revelation over that old Omen, which was more than 3 lbs heavier. The key travel is a little more shallow than I would like, but the track pad has exceeded my expectations. Battery life for everyday tasks has been a pleasant surprise, even with the screen on best settings.
If I had to do it over again, I would probably flip a coin between this and a MacBook Air. I really like the touchscreen on this Carbon 14, but I'm not sure I like it enough to keep it over a MBA. I bought it as an MBA alternative, and so far it has done its job.

I noticed the hinge creaking once the fans are active for 5 min and longer.
