A "little" more? $549 currently for the base. That's 50% more.
Depends on how you use it. My wife browses the internet, uses the FB app and watches an occasional movie. M1 is overkill.

Agree. I have an iPad 2 for almost a decade now. This will last 5-8 years easily.
If it were my wife we'd end up replacing it within 2 years anyway. M1 or not.
That's cool but what does that really help with? Unless you do a lot of intense gaming or graphic design/video editing, I bet most couldn't tell the difference.
