I'd say the RAM no question. You can use a portable HDD/SSD and those are getting bigger and smaller by the year. RAM here is not expandable and, to be frank, 8GB is really a low in relation to what's needed these days, even if you just have a habit of opening a bunch of tabs in Chrome.

Yup. Can always add more storage in other ways, but you can never add more memory with these systems.

True, Rams on mac air is not upgradable, on the other hand soild stated or cloud data is easy to connect via web, wireless , or external hard drive .
