Great price to be sure, but I can't get over the consistent stream of complaints on Amazon about how HOT this thing allegedly gets (when charging certain laptops). In fact, some reviews suggest it's not as fast as other, larger, 65w chargers even though it registers as a 65w charger (in the OS). This seems to suggest that, maybe, it's cycling power in order to control its temperature?

Take a look at one of the reviews I read for yourself:

Product works as intended, but be warned, it gets extremely warm/hot.

I'm generally a big fan of Anker products and they are a go-to brand for power delivery when considering third party product solutions.

This little 65w charger really does deliver in every aspect of what it advterises, for a great price as well. That said, be warned, after charging my MacBook Pro 13' for 10 minutes with this over USB C - the charger itself was extremely hot to the touch to a rather worrisome degree. Where I really would worry about this product is if you have an unwitting child that may touch it when plugged in or a not-so-thoughtful high schooler using it as their default powering device. It's small design leaves less room for good thermal dissipation and I I would not be surprised if we start to see some horror stories down the road. Strongly advise using a larger/less compact option for a primary charger if possible and only using this really as a backup/light travel charge use.

Got one of these for my Steam Deck. Although it's too big to fit in the back of the case. Its good to leave next to my bed for charging of all the things, not just deck.

Of the "Like New" products I've purchased, I've only really noticed imperfect packaging otherwise no damage to the actual product.

With something like an Anker charger they could send it in a sandwich bag for all I care as long as it works. Just gonna end up near the front of my drawer of chargers either way

Yeah in the reviews from other countries especially there are people suspecting it shuts off periodically from overheating and doesn't deliver 65W consistently in addition to getting too hot to touch for more than a few seconds at high power draws

Quite a few "new" Amazon products I receive have obviously been opened and repackaged. So the only difference with "like new" may be that those sellers are more honest when they resell returned items

I was on the fence because I couldn't figure out if it supports fast charging for my M2 Air… (technically 67W are required) I bit the bullet, will report back and let you know if it does. If not, it's going back to Amazon.
