The 11th vs 12th gen, especially the laptop chips for intel, isn't a MASSIVE user difference especially at the lower end with an i3.
I'd easily say a person is good and will be future proof enough with a 11th gen intel now if the deal is good, as this is.
If it's a 10th gen as we saw A LOT of 'slickdeals' over the summer with questionable pricing, yeah I'd agree.
The direct replacement for the i3-1115G4 is the i3-1215U. The model names match and they both had a tray price of $281.
The 1215U is about a +30% single-threaded boost, +86% multi-threaded (PassMark), owing to the 2+4 core count. It's faster than any of the quad-core Tiger Lake chips. The core/thread increase won't be repeated in the upcoming Raptor/Meteor Lake generations AFAIK.
We've seen a 1215U laptop hit the $350 price point already, and 1115G4 at $200. The only reason to buy this is the 2-in-1 aspect, which is overrated IMO.
Please post a link where I can find a 14" IPS 2-in-1 with a 11th gen i3 processor for $200.
Thanks.
A 4 core i5- 11th or 12th gen CPUs goes for about the same price as this one on a decent sale. That said, how much would you pay for a 13- 11th or 12th gen? Really, the 11th gen i3 is anything but fast and very sluggish if multiple apps for browsing and email are open and youtube is on in one of the tabs. A client bought about 15 of these for the employees to install quickbooks/email/browsing etc. after constantly being warned by me that this cpu is an underperformer. He returned several after employees productivity went down the toilet. Not completely what you needed, but just as an example:

Please Edit Title to include the mandatory additional $14.99 for the pickup option or for shipping, and rephrase the OP body., which looks like you are saying there are 2 options, either in-store pick up, or $14.99 shipping. Should state $14.99 for either in-store pickup or shipping.
$14.99 is charged even for store pickups.

By any chance, do you have a link or web store with the i5s? Had an i3 and productivity decreased as well.
No sorry. I had not been actively following the pricing on the i5s, but did happen to remember some that had gone down to $350 and was surprised to find MC still having that deal.

We can debate the capabilities of the 11th gen i3, or the value of the 2-in-1 format, but that's not the point.

Not 14" either, which is typically rarer afaik compared to the (cheaper/less valuable?) linked 15
