This is Consumer Reports lowest rated Oled and wasn't recommended.
Thank you for referring to Consumer Reports for an opinion. They are my go to source for many items, especially tv's. I just read their writeup on this tv, and they give excellent picture quality and 4 out of 5 on sound quality. Sams, Best Buy and Amazon all sell this tv for 1800. You're correct that this tv isn't in the "recommended" category, but at 1000, it certainly seems like quite a good deal based on CR's total review.

If y'all don't mind reburbished, Microcenter sells the 65 LG C1AUB for $1,200. And the tv is not $1,000. It's $1,300. If $1,300 has to leave your bank account for you to leave the store with the tv then that's how much it cost. The $300 offer is just a bonus.
They released a new firmware for this about a month ago which fixes nearly all of the original issues. This makes the TV now as good as the LG C1 range of TVs and at $1,000 for the 65" it is definitely a bargain. I own the 55" version and also the Samsung OLED from the same year. Picture is comparable.

Samsung never made an OLED set in 2020, thier first QD OLED was released this year, maybe you meant QLED?

I have the OLED, I meant the 2021 Samsung A80J. As I mentioned, I have the 55" Vizio and it is a great TV now after the latest firmware update and comparable with the C1 and A80J. I have been an active member of the AVforums thread on this TV and as I mentioned, people who stuck it out for the latest firmware are now really enjoying the TV including myself. It was a rocky time to get this far though and Vizio certainly were using us as beta testers. They may do another OLED for 2023 but it is not confirmed yet.

Vizio only has the one model, which came out in 2020.
It appears they already gave up on them after that year. Guessing they ate a big loss cuz they didn't sell many.
