Good deal for quality tools. Even though my home depot said not available in store, they were in the large Milwaukee displays in the front of the store and rang up properly.
Here's an excellent comparison with many other brands [youtube.com]

It's a great tool. The last hope to pull out a rotten nail (e.g. from deck joist when doing repairs) after the nail head was stripped off by other tools. It this tool won't work, just give up and cut the nail off with a multitool.

What's up with the screwdriver thru-hole. I assume it must have a use, but I can't recall ever thinking "I really need to crank on this little knob."

Easier than squeezing and turning the knob with your fingertips on a regular pair

It's for cranking it down even tighter after clamping onto something. The video on the item page shows it...

Are they actually? I have no experience with the Milwaukee branded pliers, but I've never used a pair from any brand as good as the Irwin. Usually the other brands slip off too easily when you need a really good grip.

Ummm….Irwin is made in China junk now…the teeth are soft and overall fit and finish lacks of the originals… Eagle grips are made in the USA by Malco and are VASTLY superior

Yes, the Eagle Grips are beasts compared with these Milwaukees. But they are more than double the price. Will probably last 10x as long though and will actually work when you really need them.
