bought two of these a couple of years ago. they are incredibly fragile. Don't drop them or they will explode into a dozen pieces.

You could use to transition someone who refuses to use box cutters but opens stuff all the time. Maybe an elder or spouse, ahem.

This could be nice for 1-2 people who rarely open boxes. If you order a lot of stuff and use it all the time, just get a real boxcutter. It's a known solution that's been refined for utility and long-term maintenance. These ceramic blades won't last, but maybe they'll last you long enough. The standard bar with break-off blades is popular for good reason, because one could last you many times the same use you could get out of something like this.

Also don't use your good knives to open boxes. Spend <$5 on a real boxcutter and avoid dulling your much more expensive hardware on menial tasks.

Why reinvent the wheel when you have box cutters, I have these from HD at $2.50 for over 5 years…. For this price you can almost get two of the HD box cutters.

This one fits in a pocket or purse much better than that one.
