These have their limited applications, but when the CMR Red Plus were recently $15 more for the same size, it's not a good deal for these.

Might work if you built a NAS out of Windows Storage Spaces. But really, get Unraid instead (or TrueNAS if you want a real filesystem for your NAS) and CMR drives. Or does WSS have any performance with parity now (they had it once, then it went away)?
