SlickdealsForumsHot DealsLyca Mobile: Unlimited Talk + Text + 12GB for $5, 60GB for $10, Unlimited Data for $20 per 30 Days (for 3-Months w/ Auto Renew)
LycaMobile customer service is very unhelpful. You are better off filing a FCC complaint to resolve issues, then their complaints department in India will reach out to you.[/SIZE]
Too many companies have such scummy practices! FIGHT BACK. Take some time to copy/paste your complaint to FCC, your state's attorney general's office / department of justice, BBB.
You only get 3 months at the discounted rates, then they soar back to normal. It doesn't seem like much of a deal considering the normal rates aren't anything special.
Not when you have Google Voice. Pop in SIM, activate with a new number, start GV app & tell it to update forwarding number using the phone's assigned number. Done (minus some optional housecleaning like removing the old number to forward to).
In my experience, Google Voice number wasn't accepted by few services that would need it for OTP. It would classify as a VOIP and not accept it. Thats the only concern I had and would mean I'd need to change the OTP numbers of a few when switching networks. Didn't you run into it?

A number to port out for $5 might be a deal for someone.

That's what I do for my mom - I moved both of us to Google Voice. I can use my phone like normal internationally when on wifi or with a local SIM. I've been on Visible for a while because I use hotspot a lot. For mom, I get whatever has at least 1-2 GB/month and is cheapest.
